If this single development is an example of what the Places to Grow Act (2006) inevitably dictates in the name of “Sustainable Development” (and “infilling”), then the culture of Canada will continue to dramatically change and may end as we know it. How does one raise a family or live decently in such a dwelling?—Developments like this feed the severe demographic crisis in our civilization. Recently, the Royal Institute of British Architects lambasted the size of “shoe-box” homes that have been built recently in their country, why are we repeating this problem when we should be learning from history?—very recent history! Keep making those high-rise developers ever richer, City Councillors, everywhere!

I was just introduced to your Aberdeen Gardens today and was wondering if I could participate as a vendor in your spring session?
I am a lifetime resident of Hamilton and have written 6 fictional crime mystery novels with many of the settings in the Hamilton / Burlington area. My books are available in softcover and e-mail formats on Amazon and Lulu publishing. i have done book talks at Chapters Indigo in the Meadowlands and at various Christmas Bazaars last year.

Has the Kirkendall Neighbourhood Association made a written comment about the Zoning Amendment File No ZAC- 12-020 for the lands at the corner of Locke St. South and Jackson St. west? This is a development that will change the face of Locke Street, and we should be involved in the decision-making. The deadline to submit a comment is August 21, to chris.bell@hamilton.ca. A simple “I have concerns about this project and wish to be kept informed” will suffice.
