An evening of  Seasonal Stories with renowned British storyteller Geoff Mead

Unwind with the whole family at this spell-binding evening of Winter Tales, with renowned British storyteller Geoff Mead – an unforgettable and heart-warming experience.

Intended for adults, young adults and accompanied children over 10, this event features Christmas stories and other winter tales – traditional and new, sacred and irreverent, funny and moving – from around the world.

The performance will begin at 7:00p.m. & finish at 9:00 p.m. with a break for refreshments.

Geoff was guest storyteller at the 2010 Toronto Storytelling Festival.

He performed The Storyteller’s Tale at Hamilton’s Pearl Company in March 2010.

City calls for volunteers for committees

Following the 2010 municipal election, the City of Hamilton is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as Citizen Appointees to the Volunteer Committees, the Sub-Committees, Boards, Agencies and the Police Services Board for the 2010-2014 term of Council.

An orientation open house for Volunteer Committees will be held on Monday, December 6 from 4 to 8 pm at Hamilton City Hall, Rooms 192/193 on the 1st Floor.

An orientation open house for Sub-Committees, Boards & Agencies will be held on Wednesday, December 8 from 4 to 8 pm at Hamilton City Hall, Rooms 192/193 on the 1st Floor.

Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010. Application forms are available through the website, in the City Clerk’s Office and all Municipal Service Centres.
