To improve walkability in Kirkendall, a group of residents have been in touch with Brian McHattie and his staff regarding the possibility of installing a crosswalk across Aberdeen at Kent.
This is a busy intersection for foot traffic of HSR bus users and students heading south on Kent toward the HAAA park and Ryerson Middle School. We feel that a crosswalk at this location would provide a convenient point for people living between Locke and Queen on the north and south sides of Aberdeen to safely access the benefits of each other’s neighbourhoods, including schools, parks, and other amenities.
More details are available on the Raise the Hammer blog
Residents with a personal interest in the possibility of a crosswalk at this location are invited to attend a meeting with Brian McHattie and representatives from the Alternative Transportation Project and Healthy Living, Public Health.
Thursday, Dec 2, 2-3pm
Location: Room 192 (1st floor, Hamilton City Hall)
