Locke Street Public Art Competition

As of  May 1, 2009 the City’s purchasing division has issued the request for proposals for the Locke Street Public Art Competition.  Please feel free to forward this information on to any artists you think would be interested and encourage them to submit their ideas. Call for Submissions – Locke Street Public Art Competition

The City of Hamilton is currently seeking artists or teams of artists to make submissions to the Public Art Completion for Locke Street South.

A competition award of $40,000 will be given for the design fabrication and delivery to the site of a series of art pieces or a single art piece that will be reflective of the Locke Street South area and will have significance and meaning to the community. This art work(s) is to be permanently installed on Locke Street South.

Please note that this competition closes on June 4, 2009 and that artists must attend a mandatory information session on May 20, 2009 to be considered.
