Pedestrian-Friendly Neighbourhood Committee Meeting
Announcing the first meeting:
Kirkendall Neighbourhood Association’s new
“Pedestrian-friendly neighbourhood committee”
Nov 19th, 7:30 pm
Stanley Avenue Baptist Church,
Stanley and Locke Streets.
A number of issues have been raised in discussions of meetings in Kirkendall and through the work that has been done by Environment Hamilton’s “Kirkendall Walks” Project. This committee will start looking at ways to move forward on finding ways to improve the walkable (and perhaps bicyclable) character of the neighbourhood. Some of the issues raised that we might work on are the following:
– the speed of traffic on Aberdeen
– the dangers of crossing Main at Dundurn
– the possibility of a ‘street mural’ on the pavement to mark a significant intersection
– the difficulties walking and cycling on Dundurn St, especially at Chatham.
Other issues can certainly be raised as well.
Any interested member of the community is welcome to attend!
The entrance is at the rear of the building, from the parking lot on Stanley Ave. The meeting room is upstairs to the left.
For more information, please contact Derek Hrynyshyn.
See you there!
